It's a start...

Ta-daa... the first two wedding related online photo albums are ready!

No. 1: "A dream in white", a revue of (almost) all wedding dresses I tried before I found my dream dress. The pictures were taken in July during my visit at Tiffany in Denver, which has been documented in this album back then. Obviously I couldn't publish these photos until now, after the wedding. Ed thinks I chose well. [Which seriously is the only right answer, Sweetheart...] Gown "No. 1" by the way, which is shown in the small picture, was the favorite of my Mom, whom I emailed photos of the dresses from Denver when I was completely overwhelmed with the decision.

No. 2 is a potpourri of pictures from the days before the wedding. Starting with a tribute to German breakfast specialties, followed by my visit at Luelff's Hus, insights into a possible answer to the question "How to ship a wedding dress", craft nights with the bride, groom and mom-in-law, up to the arrival of our US guests in Germany.

My visit at Luelff's Hus was a drain on my Mom's nerves, by the way:

The location was a recommendation from my parents, who visited the place at Ed's and my request some time in April of this year. Based on their enthusiastic reports, which they had given us via email and on the phone, we chose the Luelff's Hus as the location for our wedding -- solely based on my parents' judgement. (No one can ever call me a control freak again!) When I was in Germany 2 1/2 weeks before the wedding, I finally had a chance to take a look at the place in person.

When, after my very enthusiastic reaction, my Mom expressed how large the load was that I just took off her mind (accompanied by an extremely relieved countenance), I finally realized why she had been so silent on the drive over to the place... Sorry, Mom!

What else...!?
We had our first "wedding anniversary" yesterday -- married for one month! We celebrated at a Barenaked Ladies concert in San Francisco (it was a birthday present for Ed from September, and happened to coincide with this day). Here are pictures of this terrific show from another Flickr and BNL fan -- thank you, Raegena!

Back!

7 1/2 weeks have passed in between my last post and this one, accompanied by tens of thousands of accumulated air miles, dozens of eliminated prejudices, 2.6 GBs of digital photos, and the most wonderful wedding we could have hoped for...

Ed and I spontaneously extended our stay in Europe by a few days in Paris, and have been back in California for almost two weeks now. After quite some postpartum depression, I took a break from everything wedding related, and am now well recovered and eager to sort through the incredible number of wedding pictures and post them online.

Sometimes I think that the times when the number of pictures taken was affected by thoughts like "Oh, only five exposures left on this roll of film..." and "Ah, well, not sure that this motif is worth the price for the copy..." weren't so bad after all. Only sometimes, though...

Alright then. 2.6 GB to go.
